Lew Malchick, N2RQ-Educator of the Year
Lewis A Malchick is named Recipient of HamCation’s 2024 Carole Perry Educator of the Year Award Announced
The HamCation Awards committee is excited to announce Lewis Malchick N2RQ as the HamCation 2024 recipient of the Carole Perry Educator of the Year Award. This award is bestowed upon individuals who have made an outstanding contribution educating and advancing youth in Amateur Radio. It was first awarded at HamCation 2019 to its namesake, Carole Perry, WB2MGP, in honor of her work as an educator teaching students about ham radio.
Lew is extra class licensed and is the cofounder of the School Club Roundup. Participants range from elementary schools to universities and the Roundup continues to gain popularity. He has been active in each School Club Roundup for over twenty-five years. Lew is an advisor to the radio club W2CXN at Brooklyn Tech High School where he formerly taught chemistry. He is also the trustee for the Stuyvesant High School radio club W2CLS. Lew is the Chairman of Long Island Mobile Amateur Radio Club (LIMARC) Education Committee. The club has sponsored 5 ARISS contacts of which Lew activity participated in. Lew has spent his lifetime educating children and adults about amateur radio.
