It is with the deepest sympathies and most profound sense of loss, that I report to you the passing of Eric Spiegel, KE2EJ. Eric dies peacefully today at 3:30 PM.
So much of the technology and communications that is LIMARC today is directly a result of Eric’s desire to give us the best possible service. He will be sorely missed.
Our condolences to Eric’s wife Janine, and his children April and Jeremy, his sister Shelley and brother Ian.

A memorial  is planned for Eric at his home, 18 Library Lane, Plainview, on Sunday, June 9th.

I’m so sad to hear about Eric’s passing. He was an extraordinary man who was so generous with his time and many, many talents. I’m not able to check into the net, but I will be thinking of him, his family and friends and keeping them in my heart and prayers. All were very lucky to have him in our lives.

Jeannie and I are saddened to hear of Eric’s passing. Our heartfelt prayers go out to his family and loved ones. Eric did so much for everyone at LIMARC including myself. He was especially fun to chat with and I learned so much from Eric at the Friday lunches. Eric was also very helpful to me when learning to program our DMR radios.
We will all miss him immensely.

I must say I was shocked when I read the email about Eric’s passing. He recently helped me with my dmr radio code plug. I was under the impression that he was recovering. So sad, may he Rest In Peace.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________Eric Spiegel , we miss you.   I   mostly know you from hearing you talking on the repeater.  Eric was a brilliant RF Engineer.  Listening to him answering queries on the tech net never failed to impart upon me knowledge, education  and “Awe” .  I always remember him driving from place to place doing a little of this and a little of that.   He seemed tireless in energy willing to solve problems and make some sort of  improvement’s.    We sorely will miss him.   To his Family please accept our condolences.  Eric, I have a feeling you are  not gone, your someplace out there perhaps in some sort of  energy field.   ,   So, bye only for now,   until we meet again   down the old RF Trail.   Chet, WA2AHK

Richard Edward Cetron Eric was such an important part of LIMARC. His creativity and innovations in support of LIMARC are almost legendary. His generous use of his time to be there for us went far and above what would be expected. It was not unusual for him top finish his days work and then run to both Selden and Glen Oaks to fix a problem. He was technically skilled, very intellectual, and an accomplished musician. He was a good guy and always there for everyone. His passing leaves a great void. de K2KNB
